OK, so we did the 48 NH 4,000 footers - why not do them all in winter? Recognized by the AMC and White Mountain Four Thousand Footer Club, hiking the 48 in winter is... well, crazy. So you ask, "What-are you nuts?" We would say, "YES!" Our winter hiking has pushed us to the outer edges of our comfort zones and abilities where we have endured incredible cold, frozen water and power bars, icicles on our eye lashes, fierce wind, really deep snow, treacherous ice and absolutely incredible awe-inspiring sights. The challenge matches the reward. Yikes!
